[Healeys] Reversed Distributor

All,
 
I went to see a BT7 over the weekend which was being sold locally, and the  
distributor was installed 180 out (i.e. the spark advance was pointing towards  
the front of the car and the wires were pointing towards the firewall) I wish 
I  had gotten a picture to share. I had always been told that a car wouldn't 
run  that way. Can you make it run by just changing the order of the wires?
