[Healeys] Spark Plugs

All,
 
I adjusted the valves, and my car is purring like a kitten now (still has  
some puffs). I put in new plugs that I got from M*** and I could swear I have  
less power. Is that possible? The ones I took out were NGKR BPR5ES and the ones 
 I put in were Champion Copper N5C (part number 152-120). Are some plugs 
hotter  than others, thus creating a bigger spark and more power?
