[Healeys] SU HD8 question

 I have new carbs (5 years old or so). The quality isn't as good as the
old days.
The screws run out of travel before the jet can get flush with the jet
holder as the starting point. So counting screw turns isn't reliable on
one of the carbs.

I looked in a few books last night, including an SU book and found no
mention of the distance of travel for the inital jet setup. Only "2 and
1/2 turns"
