do not know exactly what happened, since all i did was switch the tops of my
bj8 carbs with the tops of the bn6, but problems seems to be solved. will
watch it close for the next few days for signs of a relapse. HOWEVER, now have
much more serious problem on bj8. for about a week i have noticed that the
oil pressure really got low when oil heats up. it did not come on gradual. i
have been watching it close to see if i can hear any knocks, etc. just
changed oil recently, but no oil loss, no water in oil, etc. today i took off
and noticed that oil pressure had busted right by the 60 psi mark where it
normally stops when oil is cold. i immedietly let off on gas and needle
fluctuated wildly. kept rpm down until oil warmed up, then everything
appeared to be normal for a while, then oil pressure dropped much lower than
normal when idling. i suspect an oil regulator problem, maybe a broken spring
or ball unseated. any other ideas i can ruminate on. healeymanjim
