[Healeys] Seat Foam

Hello all,
Does anyone know why ?
I have stock seats, a Heritage seat cover kit, w/their seat and  
backrest foams. Why is there a 1 1//2" inch gap at the back of the  
seat. The Heritage people tell me that they have made 1000"s of these  
kits. Are they all like this?
Are the Moss kits the same? What's the Answer? The mysterious  
"Supplemental Foam"?
I have after market seat pans. are they too long in the front?
