[Healeys] starting problem

i am doing some work on a tri-carb and have noticed that this car always is
hard to start when it has sat for a while.  starts instantly when warm and is
very smooth.  it came originally from ohio and the PO had put an aircraft type
primer in to shoot in extra gas, so my guess is that this is a long standing
problem.   if i use the choke, it seems to load up and i have to open the
throtlle to get it to start, but it is a chore.  had complete tuneup a few
miles back, but no help.  carbs seem to be set correctly, but not real
familiar with tri-carbs.  any help appreciated.
