[Healeys] scuttle seals

G'day John

Don Mollett stayed with us for some time during the late 1980s after
sailing out from California. I recall meeting him for the first time at
a sailing club in Sydney Harbour. He had only arrived the previous day
and was particularly bow-legged after spending so long in a small
sailing boat in a very large ocean.

We had some good times when he was here including celebrating
Australia's bicentenary on the Harbour along with Joe and Lenore Armour.
The Harbour was so chock-a-block with boats that you could almost walk
across the harbour with out getting wet.

Eventually the long arm of Australian immigration officialdom caught up
with him and he had to leave the country.

The last time I heard from him he was living in New Zealand.

OK. Now where are the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow and which
of
these is Larry Varley or the other Aussies on this list reincarnated as
Don?

=how many Healey devotees remember the Bill Bolton scuttle seals were
actually the final inventory from Don Mollett's Healey Motor Works in
Santa
Barbara, Ca.? Don was one of the great late 70's parts sources who had
all
of the hard to find trinkets and baubles, particularly rubber goods, no
one
else had. in the early 80's Don closed his shop and sailed off to Oz.
cheers,
