To appease your wife, consider what I did, build it with a reverse
dormer and the shop can become more attractive than an average
garage/shop. I have an 11 foot door with my 2 post lift on the
left side (open to the roof) and on the right side, a standard
door for one story usage with a second floor wood shop above it.
It is pole barn construction. (Photo Attached)<br>

Jason is correct with the concrete for the lift. They recommend at
least 6" in the area of the 2 post lift. <br>
