(his words)<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>He later joint the Joest team in USA as team organizer and so he met Kas Kastner several times, when Kas was at the track side to support his Nissan team.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>Once the Nissan team ran into a technical problem, the alternator failed “again” and they were running out of spares. So Kas went over to Hans-Dieter and asked if he could borrow an alternator for the next race. Without hesitation Hans-Dieter went to the truck and pulled out an alternator and gave it to Kas.
