We had the retainer collar come off, bad results twice!! Ultimately fixed by Currie with using 8” center section with Ford 9” axles housings fitted, real big deal as new shorter axles and tubes made!! Forever fixed.. I'm not sure if some red loctite on the shaft would work well enough to secure it or not. Dealing with a safety issue here. They are quite similar to the Southwick system.<br><br>I have heard that the securing ring on the axle which keeps the bearing in place can be pressed or I have "heard" they need to be shrinked on.<br>Making the ring red hot and slide it on the axle shaft in place.<br><br>What is right? Pressing on - which would be easy, or shrinking, what I didn't do before.<br><br>The reason I'm asking, the bearings don't stay in place and the shaft moves in the bearing.
