While on the subject of alternators ...

Once upon a time, a couple decades past I purchased an alternator conversion kit from a Morgan parts house for my TR3. About 7 or 8 years ago it failed while I was near Laughlin NV. I had a local shop fix it. They replaced my 3 wire alternator with a single
wire system that used the wire going to the idiot light to charge the battery. For the past few years the alternator output didn't start charging until I hit about 2000 RPM and didn't go to a full 15V charge unless the engine was turning 3200 RPM or better.
The 2 wire connector on the side of the alternator has a wire they never connected to anything.

I've been tempted to replace the alternator with a 3 wire system that starts charging when it is supposed to but have no idea which alternator to buy.

I never wrote down the number or ID of the alternator I purchased from the Morgan shop and forgot which shop it was. I've only worked with Delco 10 & 12SI alternators and what's in there appears slightly smaller.

So what is a good 3 wire alternator that fits a TR3 bay? I have an electric fan so I would guess 60 AMPS would be more than enough for the fan, headlamps, and a pair of aux lamps.

Suggestions?
