Some years back Kas came over. We studied heads. I cut a stock head on a band saw at different places. Kinda looked at it deeply. I mentioned that the only best way to get 14.5: 1 CR is to make the combustion chamber small and keep the thickness of the head stock. Utilizing flat top pistons. ( he did not like pop ups). <div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Easy to do once you weld up the combustion chamber and mill the chamber to a known volume. While at it make the intake runner better and sized right. Need custom length longer valves too. </span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Made three of these alum heads. Alas the first one was unfortunately expendable - found out limits what we could grind.</span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Oh… they are seriously light. </span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Good stuff. </span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><br><br><div class="yahoo-signature"><a href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/aol-news-email-weather-video/id646100661">Sent from the all new AOL app for iOS</a><br></div><br><p class="yahoo-quoted-begin" style="font-size: 15px; color: #715FFA; padding-top: 15px; margin-top: 0">On Saturday, April 6, 2024, 7:30 PM, GREGORY THOMPSON via Fot <fot@autox.team.net> wrote:</p><blockquote class="iosymail"><div id="yiv3762339536"><div>Has anyone had an issue with breaking into a water jacket on the TR4A head with taking off .150?<div><br></div><div><div style="font-family:Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;" class="yiv3762339536ydp72b54109yahoo-style-wrap"><div><div>Thank you,</div><div><br></div><div class="yiv3762339536ydp72b54109signature">Greg Thompson </div></div></div></div></div></div>_______________________________________________<br><a ymailto="mailto:fot@autox.team.net" href="mailto:fot@autox.team.net">fot@autox.team.net</a><br><br><a href="http://www.fot-racing.com" target="_blank">http://www.fot-racing.com</a><br><br>Donate: <a href="http://www.team.net/donate.html" target="_blank">http://www.team.net/donate.html</a><br>Archive: <a href="http://autox.team.net/archive" target="_blank">http://autox.team.net/archive</a> <a href="http://www.team.net/pipermail/fot" target="_blank">http://www.team.net/pipermail/fot</a><br>Unsubscribe/Manage: <a href="http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/fot/gasket.works@gte.net" target="_blank">http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/fot/gasket.works@gte.net</a><br><br><br><blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></div>
