Lighter colors show problems much easier and sooner. Rust-Oleum is preferred too. Easy to get anywhere and in a rainbow of colors in non-rattle or rattle can. I use it on frames, suspension, brackets and anything else besides the body too. Mine are always just rustoleum gray (boring) but the benefit is it is easy to see oil leaks, see what you are working on in poor light, etc. any of the colors you suggest would be way better than black for this purpose.
