Coolant migrated through the composite material and came up around the head studs and also weeped out and down the manifold side of the block. It happened very soon after assembly. I had just finished a restoration and started off on a trip to the VTR national in Oklahoma with 50 miles on the engine. I re-torqued the head at our first overnight stop and noticed one drop of coolant near the center of the engine by the head stud. I lost less than a cup of water all trip of over 1800 miles.<span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> It totally delaminated when I took the head off so there was no way to see what or where it had failed.</span></span> I replaced it with an annealed copper gasket from Racetorations with no changes to the f-08 gaskets or the head so I know it was a gasket issue. That technology is what Commetic uses and a lot of the "tuner" guys use Commetic so it is proven. I used one a while back on an engine for a club member and he has had no issues so I just got a bad one I guess. </div><div><br></div><div class="ydp4ab0f480signature">Greg Thompson </div></div>
