I had excellent results with this combination and installed them on probably six race Spitfires and I believe one GT-6. It did require some custom machine work to adapt it to the application which I did in my machine shop.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>As with many products and suppliers; Summers Bros was sold multiple times over the years with staff and owners changing a number of times. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>I am unfamiliar with the axles currently being sold by Joe Siam/Checkerboard so I can’t really speak to them.. I certainly recommend anyone interested in any component intended for the extreme stresses of racing get input from other racers or mechanics who have experience with similar products. After multiple years of competition the Summers Bros axles always tested perfectly with no signs of wear or cracks. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>Yes; those are the docs and parts list I forwarded to a number of folks(right down to the coffee mug stain).<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>I retired from racing this year after 35 years and have the car listed for sale on a website Henry Frye put together for “Triumphs for Sale”. Russ was selling his car last year, I don't know if he's still on the maillist. The axles have a Summers Bros part number and use modified corvair axle ends as well and some modes to the up rights to work.
