<div dir="ltr">Looks like a great price, good luck with the sale. Too bad you're not on the East Coast, I know a guy near Boston looking for just this car. I raced a formula car (F440) before I bought the 64 Spit and I prefer the Triumph hands down. So much more room, less finicky in the setup, cheaper to repair and run.<div><br></div><div>my 2 cents</div><div><br></div><div>mike h</div></div><div id="DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2"><br>

As a result my beloved little 1964 Spitfire and a spare (restorable) parts car is for sale. The car has been with VARA for many years and is very competitive in F Production. Kevin Ayers won the VARA FP championship with this car in 2016. I purchased the car from Joe Siam at checkered flag racing in 2019, and got the car cleaned up, added a new seat cover, new sparco steering wheel, new MDS ignition, and some other odds and ends, a few nice cosmetic upgrades and I raced it for a year, with a few class wins. In 2020 I had Joe freshen up the motor, the first race with the new motor it was in a small tangle, then covid hit and slowed racing down, so I took the time I replaced the front suspension components with new solid trunnion uprights from canely, all new ball joints, rebuilt the calipers with new stainless caliper pistons and seals and new Porterfield pads new front grill repaired the body work, wrinkle painted the dash.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">The car got put back together and raced a few more times in 2021 with some new Hoosier R7s and a new slave cylinder new harness/belts and scored a class win at buttonwillow. Most recently the car was ran at the big bore bash at willow springs in an excellent wheel to wheel race with Joes red spitfire driven by Steve Meline where we crossed the finish line 2 tenths of a second apart. The car is fantastic and ready to go. It has been super reliable and just works. Flat out though turn 9! It’s a racer not a perfect show car, but it sure photographs well, and gets the job done.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">The project/parts car is also a 1964 spitfire with factory hard top. The car was complete, and has been stripped in preparation for a frame off restoration. I have two spare motors, a couple of spare gear boxes. Loads of other spare parts. Alloy bellhousing and boxes of new rebuild parts for the motor. It is currently on a non op title and can be restored or kept for parts.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I love this car, it’s my first racecar and will always be special to me. At my first race I was honored to meet Kas Kastner who shook my hand wished me luck and signed my car. I would be happy to talk your ear off about it show it off. But I have a strong desire to race Formula Ford and can’t afford both..</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">If you have a FF that you would be interested in trading for the spitfires, I can add whatever makes up the difference if necessary. I also might be able to bring the spitfire to willow springs for the hill climb this weekend if you are interested in checking it out. I live in Tehachapi, so I’m only about 30 minutes from Willow springs.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I am asking 12k for both cars and all the parts. I really don’t want to split them up if I can help it.
