<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Oh how I miss the days. The June Sprints was always the biggest national race of the year (other than The Runoffs), and Road America was one of my 2 favorite tracks (along with Road Atlanta). I first went there in 1975, when I was first getting started, and was not very competitive. Qualified 17th in DP with a time of 3:14 & finished 7th, mostly due to attrition. I was a bit overwhelmed by that 4 mile track. Over the years The car (and I) improved to the point where I won my race twice, once in 1989 when Vic Skirmants wasn't there, then in 1991 beating Vic by a car length (or less). I qualified first overall with a time of 2:42, and had a best time during the race of 2:41, finishing first overall.<br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">And then there were all of the weekend festivities. The fans, watching the other races from various points on the track. Thunder Valley, Canada Corner, the Hurry Downs, and, of course, Turn 5, a great passing spot. Then off to Schwartz's Supper Club for dinner.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I know you guys who go will have a great time, and you probably have great memories of the track as well.
