I had to notch the rear springs as shown in your picture because the slicks of the day (1979-84) would move in and out by well over over an inch and rub the springs. Now, running the same set up with 7 inch wheels (legal in HRG with whom I almost always run, John) and the Hoosier TDR 23 x 7.5 x 15 they never touch the stock-width springs. When the factory engineers designed your car they set it in a proper position. If you add spacers or get taller tires or shorter tires or install the wrong rims you can make your car dangerously unstable at worst or at least make parts wear out and or break important bits causing a crash. Making a racecar unstable is not a good idea. If you do not know where the scrub radius is on your front tires...maybe you should. What wheel width and offset are y’all running on a vintage legal track car?<br clear="none">

I’m looking at buying I set of vintage wheels that have practically zero offset. Attached are photos of my test fit that show the wheel sits in more than seems right. I like the wheels but I’m not sure they’re what I need.<br clear="none">

On the front the outer rim is a couple of inches inboard from the fender lip. On the rear the inner rim clears the leafspring by less than a half inch. You can see where the previous owner notched the leaf springs so the tire won’t rub, so I suppose I can make these wheels work but I might be giving up track width. <br clear="none">
