In 39 years of British cars, I've never replaced a head stud, never had a head stud failure. Broken most everything else...........except for coils, never had a bad coil............</div>

<div>I know some people always replace them, I have never replaced them and never had a problem with head gaskets or heads--the includes Sprite/Midget, MGB, 4 and 6 cylinder TR, and big Healey.
