<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I took a look in my spare parts box and I found a seal (it was right on top - I am not usually so lucky in my searches), which I believe to be the correct one. It is a Timken 473229 double lip seal. 1.562" x 2.502" x 3.13". My engine is assembled, so I could not verify the shaft ID, but the OD is correct. It is a fairly common seal for a transfer case (which I have no reason to have a seal for).</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Googling, there is also a Timken 472635 seal, which is for a 1.552" shaft, but it is 0.500" thick. The extra thickness may better position one seal lip away from the split between the spacer and the damper hub. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I do not use a gasket to install the timing cover, but rather just use RTV. Adding a gasket or two would also shift the seal's relative position, which may help (or hurt, depending on where the split is). JoeB. </div><div><br></div>

<div dir="ltr">Jerry, I am using a thin belt Harmonic damper that I got from BFE years ago. It has spacer that goes against the slinger and the joint where the damper meets the spacer is right about where the seal lip is. I found a double lip seal, but that was 10 years ago and I can't find my records of what it is. If I come across it, I will post it. Joe B. </div><div dir="ltr"><br clear="none"></div>
