<DIV>On 2 occasions I had a leaking timing because of a small hole in the
cover itself : once the hole had the shape of a thin line and was located near
the rivets or spotwelds of the chain tensioner.</DIV>

<DIV>We run a narrow belt on both cars. In both cases the damper puller housing
extends into the timing cover to mate up against the slinger washers. No problem
using the stock oil seal. We have had some leakage out between the crankshaft
spigot and the pulley. Perhaps via the Keway. and the fit between the pulley and
spigot is a little worn, so we assemble it with some rtv. No leaks.</DIV>
<DIV>I wonder if you have eliminated the slinger washers, and if the joint
between the spacer and damper coincides with the lip seal interface. </DIV>

a thin belt conversion and have an oil leak from the timing chain cover. New
seal at rebuild 2 years ago. Leaked from initial startup but now getting
