There are two different types of shims, one golden/yellow and one plain silver. The problem is that the silver ones are heavily worn from the springs tearing them up. The golden yellow shims look as installed, with no visual wear and they don't seem to have been rotating. It obvious the springs over the silver shims were rotating and causing the heavy wear.
