I was on the front row for the first one VSCDA did. I begged them to not do it. To change there mind. They would not budge. I told them if my car blew upon at the start from dumping the clutch at red line it was on their watch if there was a huge crash.<div><br></div><div>Luckily, it neither blew up, nor stalled, nor broke the clutch. And it was a true drag race launch. But in the mirror I saw an awful lot of cars spreading out wildly. Luckily no crashes but I guess they learned it wasnt the best plan overall.</div><div><br></div><div>There's a reason SCCA no longer does standing starts.
