Cleveland has a lot to offer, but Columbus is a nice city too and nearby Mid-Ohio. I still have not been to the rock and roll hall of fame. I agree that the Amish towns and countryside are worth a tour. Beautiful rolling hills and great curvy, scenic roads. Rent a sporty car and keep a close lookout for horse drawn buggies. There are many Amish communities between Mid-Ohio and the Akron, Canton, Ohio area. Cleveland has huge boating activity being right on the "North Coast" of the U.S. Put-in-Bay vintage races are held nearby too, but later in the season. People and race cars are ferried to an island where the races are held. </p><p style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);">Looking forward,</p><p style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);">Dave H.</p><blockquote type="cite">On September 30, 2019 at 4:02 PM Robert Lang via Fot <fot@autox.team.net> wrote: <br> <br><div class="ox-392054390d-ydpa4df8906yahoo-style-wrap" style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><div> <br></div><div dir="ltr">Hi,</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">I would add that Ohio east of the Mid Ohio race course is quite fun for off the beaten track stuff like Amish farms and covered bridges and stuff like that. Ashtabula county has around 19 of them. It's quite fun finding them - you get to see some real countryside! For history buffs, there's also parts of the old canals that once connected the great lakes to the Ohio river. If you're into zoos, the Columbus Zoo is fairly impressive and there's also a park to the east of Columbus that is affiliated with the Columbus Zoo and it is called "The Wilds". The are is a reclaimed surface mine and a lot of roaming large animals. Worth the trip, if you like that sort of thing. There's also a US National Park up near Cleveland - Cuyahoga Valley National Park. A fun place to visit, there are some remnants of the previously mention canals in the park.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">I agree that Wright Patterson is a must see for aviation buffs...</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">There's lots of kool stuff in the general area!!</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">I am also looking forward to the trip next June.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Regards,</div><div dir="ltr">Bob Lang <br></div><div><br></div></div><div id="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yahoo_quoted_0213043736" class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yahoo_quoted"><div style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: #26282a;"><div>On Monday, September 30, 2019, 6:18:38 PM EDT, Terry O’Beirne via Fot <fot@autox.team.net> wrote:</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><div><div class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613WordSection1"><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal">Many thanks</p><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"> </p><div class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613yqt3814508167" id="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613yqt43652"><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"><strong>From:</strong> vfracing@aol.com <vfracing@aol.com> <br clear="none"> <strong>Sent:</strong> 30 September 2019 21:46<br clear="none"> <strong>To:</strong> Terry O’Beirne <tobeirne@skillpro.com.au>; fot@autox.team.net<br clear="none"> <strong>Subject:</strong> Re: [Fot] tourist stuff around mid-ohio kastner cup</p><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"> </p><div><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Terry; </span></p><div><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;"> </span></p></div><div><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">You might want to take a look at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd., Cleveland Ohio 44114.</span></p></div><div><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;"> </span></p></div><div><p class="ox-392054390d-ydpf9f5fce7yiv3326539613MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">While in Cleveland, see if you can catch the once a month tour of NASA's Glenn Research Center.
