<div>I had been using MTL in my racing diff for 7 years without a problem. This was with a gear set that likely had 50,000+ street miles on them so were well broken in. </div>

<div>last year when I built a new diff with a new gear set, things did not go well. I used MTL and destroyed the gears in about 20 laps. The gears actually melted. The only conclusion I could draw was that I did not have the EP additive package required for hypoid gears during the critical break in period for the new gears. </div>

<div>I now use the redline shock proof which does have the EP additives. Works like a champ. I have a welded diff. </div>
