Pardon my silly question but I’m trying to figure out the best way to mount headlight rings and the aluminum headlight covers on my newly acquired racecar with out cutting the fiberglass bonnet. I love the look of the spun aluminum headlight blanks from Pegasus auto, but would like to find a way to do it that is semi permanent if you will. As I understand the blanks essentially sit inside the headlight mounting ring, which bolts to the bucket, and the chrome trim ring snaps in place around it, I am thinking I’d like to find a solution that allows the headlight ring and retainer and spun aluminum cover to flush mount to my fiberglass bonnet with out cutting a hole for the entire headlight bucket to sit inside. Am I making sense? So far my ideas are get a spare set of headlight buckets and hack off the back of the bucket so it can flush mount with screw into the fiberglass or some good double sided 3m adhesive. My other thought was I could attempt to design and 3D print a flat plate with the necessary features for the headlight rings to attach to and mount that to bonnet. Am I over thinking this? Is there an easier way? Photos of what I’m talking about <br>
