<div> <font size="2">To physically test the action of the clutch, you can set them up on a flywheel sitting on a chassis scale pad, in a press, and measure the load as you pump it up.</font></div>
<div><font size="2">When it gets to the release point the pressure will be max and then drop off quickly as the plate overcenters.</font></div>
<div><font size="2">(You can slip a feeler gauge in there to tell the exact release point.)<br>

<div><font size="2">The thickness of the disc directly affects the geometry that the PP has to work within by design.</font></div>
<div><font size="2">If the disc is too thin, there will be weak clamping force and it'll slip, and it will take a "long" pedal to release.</font></div>
<div><font size="2">If too thick, the release will be too high and it will probably slip under load.</font></div>
<div><font size="2">Generally if I use a thicker disc, I shim the difference between it and a stock disc, and check it in the press if any question.</font></div>
