<html><body><div style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: #000000"><div><br></div><div>Brian, you are right, it's better to correct this : the spring (fingers) are working in a wrong range and it's possible the disc won't disengage and the clutch will fail after some time. When mounting and tightening the pressure plate, the fingers should move inward no more than 2 or 3mm.</div><div>You can correct this by putting washers between the six feet of the PP and the flywheel. These washers ought to be hard steel : shims, not common mild steel washers.</div><div>Marcel</div><div><br data-mce-bogus="1"></div><hr id="zwchr" data-marker="__DIVIDER__"><div data-marker="__HEADERS__"><b>Van: </b>"fot" <fot@autox.team.net><br><b>Aan: </b>"fot" <fot@autox.team.net><br><b>Verzonden: </b>Vrijdag 24 mei 2019 04:23:16<br><b>Onderwerp: </b>[Fot] laycock clutch question<br></div><br><div data-marker="__QUOTED_TEXT__"><div class="ydp2cb3289ayahoo-style-wrap" style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><div>Hey Friends</div><br><div>just installed a new to me (rebuilt) laycock PP and a new clutch disc. As I tightened the PP the fingers ended up pretty much flat across, no longer peaked. So when the hydraulics is engaged the throw out will press the clutch fingers deflecting inward (invert from when on the bench). Makes me uncomfortable / doesn't seem right. </div><br><div>Normal / Correct? </div><br><div>am hoping to put the trans back in tomorrow afternoon, comments please<br></div><br><div>Thanks</div><div>Brian</div><br><div class="ydp2cb3289asignature"><div>26A GT6+</div>Brian Schirano<br>585-305-0349 Cell <br>BSchirano@yahoo.com<br></div></div><br>_______________________________________________<br>fot@autox.team.net<br><br>http://www.fot-racing.com<br><br>Donate: http://www.team.net/donate.html<br>Archive: http://autox.team.net/archive http://www.team.net/pipermail/fot<br>Unsubscribe/Manage: http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/fot/van.mulders.marcel@telenet.be<br></div></div></body></html>
