<p>Scott, I'm not an expert, but I have worked with Halon in a
computer room environment before that was taboo. My understanding
is that Halon is a gas, there's nothing to solidify. As long as
you have pressure in the tank you're good. <br>
</p>
<p>The fact that there's no solids was why it was such a good
material for use in computer rooms. To test the installation we
actually did a Halon dump in the computer room (like a 20 by 50
foot room). It was pretty impressive. Big wall of fog rolled
across the room.<br>
</p>
<p>I'd like a second opinion, I could be wrong on the longevity for
some obscure reason.</p>

I’ve got a 5 lb Halon bottle with nozzles in my car that is at
least 10 years old, probably more. I’ve heard the product cakes
up and will no longer work after a while, so I’m interested in
making sure the car is as safe as can be.

However, I’ve still got a tank full!</div>
