Russ... might be different in cars, but with our two stroke racers readings at 3000, 5000 were just as important as 12000. Of course our carbs allowed jetting in all those ranges. I still pay attention to readings @ 4500 in our TR3<br>

the head, usually 5-6” down the manifold. Angle the thermisters in such a manner that the connecting wires are not likely to create an obstruction.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">A dual channel EGT gauge is a great tool for diagnostics and also tuning.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">The most accurate temperatures are at the end of a long straight with wide open throttle. Ignore any readings while stationary or at part throttle.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">As far as the gauge placement there’s options but all the cars I have built have them mounted on the top of the dash, just outside the field of vision. That
