However, mine was totally self induced- the result of an “oversteer ballet” exiting turn 10, which resulted in my car backing into the outside concrete wall just shy of the start finish line. I had just waved by a group of MUCH faster cars in turns 8+9 and was not on a very good line at turn 10. Too fast at entry, oversteer, correction, both feet in, bang. Ouch. </div><div><br></div><div>I won’t be joining you on the track in Pittsburgh, but I may come to watch the fun (once the soreness subsides..).</div><div><br></div><div>My trackside neighbors, including John and his wife, were a tremendous help this past weekend. They were a great comfort to a singleton racer far from home. Weather was windy at first but no rain and sunny weather great for racing. The spectators turned out in force as well as the the largest number of registered racers that VARAC has seen at this event. Brian Redman was the Grand Marshall and took a few parade laps in an F5000 tribute car which he drove to his three world championships back in the 70s. TRs ran in small and medium bore groups that numbered nearly 60 each on the grid. The TR8 was placed in the Classic G/78-G/98 group running with the later model cars. Mechanical problems and some off-track activity sent a few of the TRs home early. Several of the TR drivers were on the podium in their group. No MG-TR race this year.
