I was down shifting on that steep hill going into town with the race car on Friday night. I heard a Big Bang, and a lot of clunking, but the car was still operating. I finished the weekend. Back home up on the lift we found a 1” hole in the bell housing adjacent to my right foot. Luckly, What ever shot through struck a body seam, or surely it may have made its way into the cockpit. We noted several ears missing from the clutch plate, but that old tractor finished the race weekend. <div>A stock clutch came apart for me at an autocross about 25 years ago and looked about the same as the one that Ted sent. I don't recall if it was a DNF. It was a street car that I drove to the autoX. Had to get a friend with a trailer to give me a tow home. Merry Christmas! Joe(B)<br>

<div><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Coasted across the finish line, got the checker, and parked just before turn 1.</span></div>
