I friend of mine made up a utility tool, a female slotted rod that mates to the oil pump through the distributor mount. We attach a 1/2" variable speed drill, (in reverse) and prime the motor that way. This forces oil through all the galleys at over 30 PSI. I just put in 4 quarts and put most of the oil in this way, then disconnect the hose from the oil galley and start the engine.
