I'm not sure if this helps any but when I was troubleshooting my oil pressure problem last year I did a little study comparing different oils. I ran Brad Penn 20W50, Valvoline VR1 20W50 and Joe Gibbs 20W50. I was comparing oil pressure at different RPM
starting at ambient oil temp and going up to 210 degrees. It was interesting that in changing nothing else the Joe Gibbs oil would not go above 195 degrees while the others went to 210. Pressure remained pretty constant between the three oil brands.

Any chance running too advanced timing would lead to 250 fegree oil temperature in 15 minutes pf lapping?

Or have I got bearing or thrust waher problems.

Car ran great. Took 3 seconds off my best lap time at Pacific raceways. Turned a 1:39:9! That was in test and tune. Oil temp kept me from racing. Opening oil filter now.
