<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">There is usually some scribe marking on the head of the pinion (in addition to the gear set number) that I was told indicates the + or - shimming from the "master" pinion depth. I think someone from Greasy Hands Garage might know for sure. The tool has a part that substitutes for the pinion gear and you have to measure to the top of it. From this measurement, you get the thickness of shims needed. It is a very precise tool and I let no one use my set, sorry.
