I sprayed both sides of the gasket and that's it. I use it for the thermal expansion & contraction and the flexibility of silicone<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">vs. a hard shellac. I know many have had success with hylomar as well.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The other benefit is the gaskets are easier to remove & reuse.
