Especially important with hard lining materials because they take a looong time to bed if not arced.<br>
Most replacements are done to standard original drum diameter so if you are using new drums they might be close.<br>
If you are getting the linings from a rebuilder, they should be able to arc the shoes to the drum diameter.<br>

<div class="MsoNormal">I’m just picking a new set of rear shoes for this next season and am wondering if it’s necessary to re-arch a set of shoes to a new set of drums.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">I can buy new drums for 60-70.00. I don’t know of anyone locally that will re-arch the shoes anymore. I didn’t do it last year and I was having to adjust my bias</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">quite a bit for a while until they assumed the diameter of the drum. I want to do it right this time.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">If new shoes & drums together mean I don’t have to re-arch them then that sounds like time/money ahead.</div>
