input shaft is always 1" x 10 splines and you have to buy the Tilton clutch disk
if you want to fit a smaller 184mm/7 1/4" clutch. A Helix disk 1" x 10 splines
won't slide over the Bastuck input shaft, unless the splines are made a bit
smaller. Bastuck is selling the main shaft for an J-type overdrive. I think
no one is selling A-type o/d dog box mainshafts. My first dog box(2005) was
a Quaife dog box with the 23 splines Ford input shaft and contrary to Keith
Files experience (maybe his Quaife box is from a newer production run?), it
worked perfectly (as my Bastuck dog box does now) for 6 years and then the input
shaft was bent after the clutch exploded at a logged 8250 rpm, caused by a piece
of aluminium that blocked the throttle in wide open position for some 3 seconds.
No one is selling an o/d main shaft for the Quaife dog
box.

Dear all,

I have 2 dog boxes for my Sebring TR4 with the gear sets supplied
by Bastuck; I can confirm that they are way better than the Quaife gear sets
that I run in my 2 dog boxes that I have for my TR6.
