The later 3A's had a caliper that was similar, but didn't have the external tube which delivered brake fluid to both halves of the caliper. The later TR-3A calipers did not have this external tube. The very early TR-4's also used the same caliper as the later TR-3A's, without the external tube. The caliper in the picture, and the one which came after it (without the tube) were interchangeable. They were not interchangeable with the later caliper used on the TR-4, as John mentioned below. The rotor and caliper mounting bracket were different. I think this latest style caliper was also used on the TR-3B's, or at least some of them. The factory may have used this old-style caliper on the early TR4 if they were leftover stock or your car was converted back. I assume they would perform as well and use the same size disks? Any comments.
