
<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=windows-1252"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;">I had a grenade go off in my engine at the last race. Not the stock rod failing, but it appears on first inspection that an ARP rod bolt gave it up. Some bad bad things happened after that with the piston destroyed, the crank gouged, and got only knows what else. The block and #3 cylinder wall doesn’t looked scarred but we’ll see if it survived when I have it magnafluxed. <div><br><div>I knew when I turned the engine upside down on the engine stand and lots of metal noises resulted I was in trouble. Now its decision time on how to rebuild. </div><div><br></div><div>Suggestions are welcome. Is this the time to go 40 over from 20 since new pistons are needed? I wanted a hotter cam for next season but not this way. The crank has serious gouges and I don’t know if its savable. That’s my wallet in the pic along with the other totally broken part.</div><div><div>
