<p>You can get away with a very lightweight battery if you add a connector</p>
<p>and use a regular heavy battery to start the car when its cold, then</p>
<p>disconnect the battery when you go on track. If you have a good</p>
<p>crew with a little red wagon, they can even bring it to the grid and</p>
<p>re-start the car there with the heavy battery for you.</p>
