<BR>Generally accepted nowadays as a waste of time and money.

<BR>Too much oil in the rocker box/valve cover is one result, oil smoke out of the exhaust is another, and a drop in oil pressure, even on a known good low mileage engine is a third.

<BR>The rocker arms were bushed with oilite phosphor-bronze bushings, at great cost, but they wore out, as did the NOS original Leyland rocker shaft in under 20k miles, even with the oil feed hose - I put it down to poor heat treatment of the shaft.
<BR>
<BR>I replaced the rocker arms with Harland-Sharpe Roller Rockers (of mild lift) - this is a road car, and the shaft with a Ted Schumacher supplied tuftrided rocker shaft.
<BR>
<BR>After another 20k miles even the tuftrided shaft is just starting to wear, although the roller rockers are fine, and that's without the oil hose!
<BR>
<BR>My engine has always sent plenty of oil up to the rocker shaft, even without the oil feed hose.
<BR>
<BR>The oil feed hose is where it belongs - in the trash.
<BR>
<BR>I have read of similar experiences from many Triumph 6 cylinder owners over a long period of time.
