Looks like maybe an old race car that got saved from the scrap heap.  Not what I’d do with such a car, but at least it’s still around.

Hey Bill:

I learned that this is especially true with the 6 cyl TRs.  I bought a TR6 with no drivetrain and added a twin-cam 4 cylinder and a 5-speed.

Drives like a dream, and 70% more power, but it's not a 6. It didn't make the splash I expected.

That one listed is a whole different uphill journey...

I guess he can dream. I stuck a 2TG motor and transmission in a TR3 once. It was nice. Most people liked it. Triumph guys hated it. DOHC four with 120hp and a five speed. Fit like it was made for it. I took it out to build my first vintage racing TR3, which was probably less stock than the 2TG was.
