[Fot] Buying Parts From England?

I purchased many parts in 2025 from Racetorations, prior to June (25%) and post tariff reduction (10%).
The shipper has to determine the category and Racetorations used a 10% Duty Rate which is for U.K.-origin auto parts intended for U.K.-made automobiles under specific HTSUS codes 9903.94.32. There is a 25% additional tariff for parts not meeting the 10% requirements.
Lower than the 15% I have to pay for my German car parts.
Like others, I had to pay DHL or UPS the tariff when the part landed in US Customs, typically in Kentucky. And, yep, the exchange rate sucks.
Thanks,
Mark

I had similar experience - on $50 the charge was $60 - split even between tariff and UPS “processing “ fees.Sent from my iPhone

Hi Dan,
I recently bought parts from Racestorations in the UK. Your $500 purchase will cost 1.34 times more in the exchange rate. $670. The shipping costs are not to bad, depending on weight $50-75. The tariff is 20%, another $134 collected by the shipping company. Estimate $800+. Ouch!
There seems to be no way around the tariff. Most Europeans pay a VAT Value Added Tax of 17.8%.
I have friends in the UK and we have discussed alternative plans. Further, the Country of Origin for the parts is the rate that you pay. If you buy parts shipped from the UK but Made in China. You pay China Tariff.
Good Luck.

Does anyone have recent purchases and thus knowledge of how much, beyond the part's cost, it costs additionally for shipping, tariffs and tax, etc. to get it here? I'm considering parts costing just north of $500.
Thanks,
Dan
