[Fot] Buying Parts From England?

This doesn’t answer your question at all as it’s the other way around, but I’d like to also hear if anybody has any thing to say on this topic when it comes to shipping to England.

Around Christmas, I went to the US post office to mail two vintage magazines as a gift from California to the guy in England that bought my triumph TR2 (TS805). It was packed in a flexible envelope. One was an old, “Classic Cars Magazine”, the other a little thinner. So basically standard sizes and not very heavy. The post office wanted nearly $55. I didn’t ship it, sadly.

It doesn’t make sense to me. You can order heavy widgets shipped from China for peanuts, but it costs $55 to ship a couple magazines to England.
