just a thought - sometimes a bad ground somewhere in the car will ground through an unrelated circuit - it could be anywhere in the car
I have experienced this a couple of times over decades

 Hi friends.
I thought I'd share a happy moment with you.  I finally got my red GT6 back together and took it to the gas station for some fresh petrol.  (That was not the happy moment.)  Actually,  I was so thrilled just to be driving it again that I really didn't care about the price of the gas. Everytime I drive that car it puts a huge smile on my face.On a side note can anyone tell me why my ignition light might be on? The alternator is putting out 13.6 volts and everything seams fine other than the light.                             Thanks for reading.  P.J._______________________________________________
