Indeed only the left axle shows this problem. Never did the right axle.

 

I will try to make it to the Mosport Kastner Cup next year.

I have always pressed the securing ring on the shaft.  To remove I use heat.

 

This has worked well for me on other Fords and Dana axles.

 

It sounds to me as if the shaft is too small in diameter if the inner race of the bearing spins on the shaft. I'm not sure if some red loctite on the shaft would work well enough to secure it or not.  Dealing with a safety issue here.  Perhaps a new axle shaft?

 

Missed you at the Kastner Cup this year.

My TR8 is running on Mustang axles. They are quite similar to the Southwick system.

I have heard that the securing ring on the axle which keeps the bearing in place can be pressed or I have "heard" they need to be shrinked on.
Making the ring red hot and slide it on the axle shaft in place.

What is right? Pressing on - which would be easy, or shrinking, what I didn't do before.

The reason I'm asking, the bearings don't stay in place and the shaft moves in the bearing. The securing ring is not strong enough.
