 The oil filter shootout was Season 6, episode 5 of Engine Masters.  I just watched it again.  Filters made no difference in HP.  They even tried no filter, with no HP difference.  The top 3 flowing (of the 3/4-16 threaded filters) were K&N Gold, Wix and Wix Racing.  The K&N had then best micron rating at 10 microns.  Wix racing filter has 60 micron rating and the regular Wix is 20 micron.  Wix 51515 and 51515R are 3/4-16 threaded filters.  
This aired in December 2021, thus does not take into account any recent changes by the manufacturers.  JoeB

  Engine Masters on Motor Trend TV did an episode where they tested various oil filters and how they affected HP and oil pressure/flow.  As I recall, the R filters made negligible difference in HP.  As a result I continued the use Wix Gold filters that were not R.  I last bought Wix Gold 51515 filters in early 2024 and have not noticed any difference in construction when I open each of them up.
