P.J.,
I run an early stock type damper on my GT6 - the early damper
has a smaller diameter pulley, for a slight underdrive. It has served me
well up to 8,000 RPM.
I have also built a customer 2.0L GT6 racing engine using the Goodparts
harmonic damper kit - a very nice solution. Highly recommended for any
high rpm racing 2.5L. The 2.0L doesn't suffer as much with harmonics, but
it's still a very nice upgrade for a 2.0L racing engine. This kit includes
an aluminum water pump.
Racetorations in the UK offers aluminum pump housings. It's supposed to be
a higher quality casting than the Bastuck offered by others. I haven't had
them side by side to confirm.
