I would agree with Tony. Given that you never know if the casting of your head is thin at some location it is better to start on the conservative side. Better to leave a little power for next time than ruin a head you have lots of work in. I say this because there is far more power in the valves and porting than a .010 cut off the head for more compression. Ken

Working with my dad (uncle jack) we considered 0.130 to 0.150 "normal" to mill, 0.190 to be where it started to get dangerous. That said, there is some variability from head to head on where the internal water passages are.
